Youth performance troupes train year-round in their home villages, learning balafon music, dance choreography, songs, poems, stories, and artforms that predate the oldest stories of the elders, for the chance to compete in the national competition hosted at the festival. In the months leading up to the main event, "knock out rounds" are hosted in regional centers, to narrow down the field of thousands of competitors, to the final 50+ teams to be invited to complete for national honors at the FASIE festival in Dano. This event relies on the generosity of our supporters, and is only possibly with your continued support. Please donate today, to ensure that Dagara youth continue to have access to this life-changing event!
